Luxury And Pampering In The Pink City With Clarks Amer

Luxury And Pampering In The Pink City With Clarks Amer

With the monsoons almost over and my schedule being twice as full as it was a couple of months ago, I’ve been working non-stop, seven days a week to keep up with the blog and my freelance work. And I didn’t think it would, but the exhaustion had started creeping up on me too. That was until a few days ago when I got the chance to spend a few days in the lap of luxury – an opportunity I grabbed with both hands. And I am super excited to share a few snaps and stories from my short getaway to Jaipur this week.

Just last week, me and my friend were invited by Clarks Amer, Jaipur, on behalf of Tripoto to come spend a few days at their property, and it would be an understatement to say that we fell in love. This was my third time visiting Jaipur this year, but my first time staying at the Clarks and it was a wonderful experience. In fact, I might find myself going back again sometime in the near future. The staff, the food, and the atmosphere – everything made it kind of perfect for a short, rejuvenating getaway.

I’ve already written a detailed review of the property on Tripoto (you can read it here), so I’m not going to go at it here again. I am going to, instead, talk about why I fell in love with the place. On the face of it, Clarks Amer is a five-star hotel, but when you scratch the surface, there’s so much more to this place than meets the eye.

I am very big on tradition, culture, and environmental consciousness. And at Clarks Amer, I experienced all three. They probably have some of the warmest people working there because from the moment you walk in, you are made to feel at home (as much as is possible in a hotel). I’ve stayed at my fair share of hotels, but the treatment here was extremely hospitable – like when someone invites you to their home and ensures you have the most comfortable experience. In fact, the bond between the employees and management is like that of a family and it shows in the way they function.

Our room, of course, was fabulous. We were in a penthouse on the eighth floor and let me tell you that the entire city was visible from there. The decor was modern and minimalistic with little splashes of colour here and there. Big fan of this.

The other big plus for me was the food. And while all of it was delicious, my personal favourite was the menu at their 24-hour cafe/restaurant – Zolocrust. They have the freshest produce and a very transparent method of cooking. You can actually go and checkout the kitchen. There were two things that stood out for me here. The first is that the entire place is run by chefs. There are no waiters, cleaners or any other kind of staff! The chefs do everything from serving, to cooking, to cleaning, and composting. The second is that the complete requirement for the hotel’s bakery items is fulfilled by Zolocrust alone. The food was not just delicious, but also so, so light on the system. Even though I was full, there wasn’t one moment where I felt heavy.

Coming to the environment, I was absolutely floored by the hotel’s initiatives. And although there’s scope for improvement (like adding solar panels, and rainwater harvesting), they’re doing quite a lot of stuff – eliminating use of plastic, composting food waste, tree plantation drive, supporting an NGO, and maintaining an excellent green cover.

This two-day trip to Clarks Amer was definitely a riot of pampering and stuffing our faces with some of the most delectable food. And if you’re ever in Jaipur, you might want to give this place a try too!

Despite the fact that we were working here too, and that too pretty much all the time, a change of scene and some pampering has really put me back in my groove.

Hope you guys enjoyed the read! What do you do to unwind after having a hectic work schedule for a while? Let me know in the comments, and I’ll see you guys next time!

Cheers!
A.
