Diwali Diaries: Slaying In A Sari

As promised, I’m here with the third look in my Diwali series. And this time it’s a sari. If you’ve been following my blog, then you know how much I’ve grown to love saris. So it was only befitting that I wore one for the festivities too.

What makes this look all the more special is that my mom picked out the sari. I wanted something festive but elegant at the same time. I didn’t want to end up looking like I was going to a wedding. She ended up giving me this bandhej sari from her closet and it was most definitely the perfect choice.

I remember I was with her when we bought this in Bikaner, where my dad was posted at the time. For my look, I decided to pair it with a simple, sleeveless red blouse (for a contrasting pop of colour), and accessorise with statement hand-painted earrings. I’ve kept the makeup simple and put my hair up in a low bun.

Got it stitched from a local tailor in Delhi. It’s a very basic design. 🙂
