Military style winter layering

An army-style jacket is bound to keep you warm this season

I might be a little late on the whole “military” trend scene, just like the Delhi winters this year, but the iconic army jacket is an item that I can no longer ignore. The number of styles, cuts and fabrics it is available in is just insane; and why shouldn’t it be? This utilitarian item can be styled in more ways than the number of clothes I own; and while fashion publications refer to it as more of a fall staple, I think with the right fabric it is perfect for keeping warm in colder temperatures.

For today’s look, I have layered a Hungarian military jacket over a blue knitted pullover and black leggings. I chose a pair of neutral grey H&M boots and added a pop of colour with an orange Satya Paul purse. For the accessories, I chose to go with silver and green onyx danglers and a jade-studded silver ring.

Chic on the outside, warm on the inside 🙂

Even without the jacket, this makes for a simple but classy look

Style tips

  • Pair a military jacket with a navy blue velvet slip dress (I might do that soon) for an effortless, grunge-diva look.
  • If you want to make a more casual, androgynous statement, wear it over a white tee and boyfriend jeans.
